ทีนี้ คำถามที่เกิดขึ้นจึง “ง่าย ๆ” ซ้ำ ๆ และเดิม ๆ มาก คือ:
นี่คือ เกม และเรื่องของผลประโยชน์ที่มีผู้ได้เสีย และกำลังอยากเจรจา หรือ “ง้างหมัด” ต่อรองกัน
นี่ไม่ใช่ “ครั้งแรก” และคงไม่ใช่ครั้งสุดท้าย เพราะก่อนหน้านี้ในระดับยุโรปก็เคยมีกลุ่ม “G14” ตั้งขึ้นยุคนิวมิลเลนเนียมก่อนจะเพิ่มอีก 4 ทีมในภายหลัง และยุติไป
นี่เป็นการรวมกลุ่ม “ก่อการ” ของทีมหน้าเดิม ๆ หรือชื่อคุ้นเคยทั้งนั้น ที่ก่อการ แต่ไม่ได้ถูกหมายหัว และยังมีความสำคัญในลีกตนเองต่อไป
นี่ก็ไม่ต่างจากแนวคิดโปรเจคต์ “Big Picture” ของบรรดาทีมใหญ่พรีเมียร์ลีกปีก่อนที่เหมือนจะเข้ามาช่วยทีมรองเพราะสถานการณ์โควิด-19 แต่มี agenda เรื่องผลประโยชน์แอบแฝง
ข้างต้น คือ ภาพรวม ๆ ที่ได้เห็น ได้ยิน เสมอ ๆ และวันดีคืนดีก็จะกระพือมาเรื่อย ๆ
เพราะผลประโยชน์ไม่เข้าใครออกใครครับ และอะไรก็เกิดขึ้นได้ในยุค “ทุนนิยม” ที่จะมีผู้นำ เจ้าของ หรือผู้มีอำนาจสักเท่าไหร่ที่มองเรื่องคุณธรรม, จรรยาบรรณ หรือธรรมาภิบาล ในการบริหารปกครองเหนือสิ่งอื่นใด
ขณะที่ในอดีต ค.ศ.1992 พรีเมียร์ลีก ได้แยกจาก “ฟุตบอลลีก” มาตั้งลีก และแม้จะมีการกระจายรายได้ไปทีมต่าง ๆ ในลีก หรือในลีกล่าง ๆ แต่ก็ไม่ได้เยอะมาก เพราะมันคือการจัดการ “แบ่งเค้ก” กันใหม่ก็เท่านั้น
หรือจากฟุตบอลถ้วยุโรป ยูโรเปี้ยน คัพ เป็น “ยูฟ่า แชมเปี้ยนส์ ลีก” ในช่วงใกล้เคียงกันก็เช่นกัน จากหลักการ “แชมป์ลีก” ทีมเดียวได้เตะไม่พอ ต้องอันดับ 2, 3 หรือ 4 ในลีกก็มีสิทธิ์เตะด้วย
ทั้ง EPL และ UCL เกิดจาก “ปฏิบัติการ” แบบที่ ESL กำลังทำอยู่นี้ หรือที่ G14 ได้เคยคิดจะทำเมื่อ 20 ปีก่อนแต่ไม่สำเร็จ
คำถาม คือ แล้วคราวนี้ ESL จะทำเพื่ออะไรมากกว่า!? นอกเหนือจากการ “การันตี 100%” (หาใช่ต้องติด “ท็อปโฟร์”) ว่าจะได้ร่วมแข่งขัน และมีสิทธิ์ก้อนเค้กระดับ 300-400 ล้านปอนด์ต่อปี ต่อทีมใน ESL
แต่ก่อนจะไปค้นหาคำตอบ ผมเคยเขียนเรื่องความพิเศษของอุตสาหกรรมฟุตบอลเอาไว้ว่า “แตกต่าง” จากอุตสาหกรรมทั่วไป โดยคัดไว้ 6 ข้อ และเขียนมา 20 กว่าปีแล้ว (ตั้งแต่เป็น คอลัมนิสต์ “เดลินิวส์”) เพื่อให้อ่านกันก่อน และเข้าใจตรงกันว่า กุศโลบาย และที่มาที่ไปของสโมสรฟุตบอล และลีกฟุตบอล มันควรจะเป็นแบบนี้

👉ลักษณะพิเศษทางธุรกิจ, บริหารจัดการ และกฎกติกาของอุตสาหกรรมฟุตบอลลีกอาชีพที่ไม่เหมือนธุรกิจอื่น ภาษาอังกฤษจะเรียกว่า The peculiar economics of professional football leagues มี 6 ข้อตามข้างล่างนี้ครับ:
1.ธุรกิจ “ฟุตบอล” เป็นผลผลิตร่วมระหว่าง “ลีก” และ “สโมสรฟุตบอล” (Joint product) ที่ต้องอาศัยกัน และกัน เพราะฟุตบอลจะเตะกันเอง ดูกันเอง ทีมเดียวไม่ได้ ต้องมีคู่แข่งขันมาร่วมด้วย และมีการจัดการลีกที่ดีเพื่อผลประโยชน์สูงสุดกับทุกฝ่าย
2.ธุรกิจฟุตบอลจะมีการกระจายรายได้ (Redistribution) ภายในลีก และระหว่างลีกใหญ่สู่ลีกเล็กรวมไปถึงทีมใหญ่รายได้ดีสู่ทีมเล็กรายได้น้อยเพื่อช่วยให้ลีก และทีมฟุตบอลแต่ละทีมมีความสมดุลกันมากที่สุด
3.แฟนบอล (ลูกค้า) จะมีดีกรีความซื่อสัตย์สูงชนิดไม่จำเป็นต้องมีเหตุผล เพราะเป็นความรัก + ผูกพันด้วยใจโดยไม่มี “ผลประโยชน์” แอบแฝงดังจะเห็นได้จาก แฟนบอลทีมหนึ่งจะไม่เปลี่ยนใจไปเชียร์อีกทีมหนึ่งแม้ทีมตัวเองจะไม่ประสบสำเร็จ หรือย่ำแย่เพียงใดก็ตาม
4.ฟุตบอลเป็น “เกม” หรือเป็น “ธุรกิจ” ที่แตกต่างจากธุรกิจอื่น ๆ เพราะจะมีจุดมุ่งหมายพร้อม ๆ กัน 2 ประการ นั่นคือ ชนะในสนาม และอยู่ได้ไม่ขาดทุนนอกสนาม
อย่างไรก็ดีครับ “จุดมุ่งหมาย” 2 ประการนี้จะขัดกันเองโดยธรรมชาติ เพราะหากต้องการจะประสบความสำเร็จในสนาม สโมสรฟุตบอลก็ต้องใช้เงินบริหารทีมมาลุงทุนกับการซื้อตัวผู้เล่น หรือไม่ก็เป็นค่าเหนื่อยผู้เล่นที่ส่วนมากแล้วจะ “ใช้เกินตัว” หรือ Overspend ซะเป็นส่วนใหญ่
5.ตลาดแรงงานนักฟุตบอลนั้นมีกฎระเบียบค่อนข้างละเอียดอ่อนกว่าธุรกิจอื่น ๆ และผู้เล่นชั้นดีจะมีอำนาจในการต่อรองเงินเดือน และการเลือกทีมสูงมาก แต่ก็ต้องไม่ลืมว่า นักเตะกลุ่มนี้ไม่ใช่กลุ่มใหญ่ เพราะฟุตบอลเล่นกันแค่ทีมละ 11 คน และในแต่ละทีมก็ไม่ได้มี “ซุปตาร์” 11 คนด้วย แต่จะมีแค่ 2 – 3 หรือไม่เกิน 5 คน
ทว่านักเตะทั้งลีก (ไม่ใช่ทั้งโลกนะครับ) มีเป็นร้อย เป็นพัน ที่ยังกระเสือกกระสนเป็น “วัฏจักร” ปกติ
6.ฟุตบอลเป็นเกมที่ควบคุมโดยกฎกติกาสากล ผสมผสานกับการบริหารโดยรัฐบาลลูกหนังหลายระดับตั้งแต่ระดับประเทศ, นานาชาติ, ทวีป และโลก คอยควบคุมดูแล, ปรับปรุง และแก้ไข เพื่อคุณภาพที่ดีของเกม
จะเห็นได้ว่า “ข้อ 6” นี่แหละหมายถึง FIFA, UEFA, AFC ฯลฯ และ FA ของแต่ละชาติที่ “สมาชิก” เช่น สโมสรฟุตบอล ต้องปฏิบัติตามเป็นหลัก และอยู่เหนือกว่ากฎหมายบ้านเมืองของแต่ละชาติด้วยซ้ำ

👉‘ยูโรเปียน ซูเปอร์ลีก’ – จุดเริ่มต้นของสิ่งใหม่ หรือ จุดจบของสิ่งเก่า?
ยูโรเปียน ซูเปอร์ลีก (ESL) ไม่ใช่เรื่องใหม่ที่ถูกพูดถึงในวงการฟุตบอลยุโรป โดยชื่อของการแข่งขันรายการนี้ถูกโยนไปในสื่อครั้งแรกเมื่อราวเกือบ 5 ปีที่ผ่านมา และชื่อนี้ก็ปรากฏให้ได้เห็นเป็นระยะ ๆ ในแทบทุกปี แต่จนแล้วจนรอดก็ไม่มีการก่อตั้งลีกอย่างเป็นทางการจวบจนกระทั่งเมื่อคืน (18 เมษายน) ที่ผ่านมา
เมื่อพิจารณาจากสิ่งที่ ยูฟา, พรีเมียร์ลีก และลีกอื่น ๆ ร่วมกันออกมาแถลง ‘ดักคอ’ ก่อนที่จะมีการแถลงเปิดตัว ยูโรเปียน ซูเปอร์ลีก ยิ่งทำให้ประเด็นการก่อตั้งการแข่งขันรายการนี้ร้อนแรงขึ้นไปอีก เพราะนั่นหมายถึงการถูก “ตัดหาง” ของ 12 สโมสรสมาชิกลีกใหม่ถ้ามีการดำเนินการในลีกนี้เกิดขึ้นจริง
สำหรับ ยูโรเปียน ซูเปอร์ลีก มีแนวคิดที่จะรวมสโมสรชั้นนำของยุโรปมาก่อตั้งลีกใหม่ที่พวกเขามีส่วนร่วม ซึ่งหมายถึงส่วนแบ่งรายได้ตลอดทุกฤดูกาลที่มีการแข่งขัน และจากแถลงการณ์เปิดตัวเมื่อคืนที่ผ่านมา สโมสรทั้ง 12 ทีมล้วนเป็นยักษ์ใหญ่จาก 3 ชาติมหาอำนาจในวงการฟุตบอลอย่าง อังกฤษ, อิตาลี และ สเปน ได้แก่ แมนเชสเตอร์ ยูไนเต็ด, แมนเชสเตอร์ ซิตี, ลิเวอร์พูล, เชลซี, อาร์เซนอล, ท็อตแนม ฮอตสเปอร์, เรอัล มาดริด, แอตเลติโก มาดริด, บาร์เซโลนา, อินเตอร์ มิลาน, เอซี มิลาน และ ยูเวนตุส
จุดที่น่าสนใจคือการไม่มีชื่อของมหาอำนาจจากเยอรมนีอย่าง บาเยิร์น มิวนิค หรือ โบรุสเซีย ดอร์ทมุนด์ กับสโมสรจากฝรั่งเศส อย่าง ปารีส แซงต์ แชร์กแมง, ลียง หรือ มาร์กเซย์ แต่ถึงกระนั้นใช่ว่าจะกาชื่อพวกเขาทิ้งไปได้ เพราะตราบได้ที่การแข่งขันยังไม่เริ่มต้น การเจรจาผลประโยชน์ก็ยังเป็นไปได้อยู่เสมอ โดยตอนนี้ในระยะเวลาไม่ถึง 24 ชั่วโมงหลังจากที่มีข่าวเกิดขึ้น อาจจะเร็วเกินไปที่จะฟันธงอะไรได้ นอกจากนี้ยังมีอีก 3 สโมสรที่มีการยืนยันว่าจะเข้าร่วมแต่ยังไม่มีการเปิดเผยว่าเป็นสโมสรใดด้วย
อย่างไรก็ตามจุดที่น่าสนใจคือการที่ ยูโรเปียน ซูเปอร์ลีก ประกาศจะให้มีการแข่งในช่วงกลางสัปดาห์ ด้วยรูปแบบ ‘ลีก’ มีการ ‘เหย้า-เยือน’ ที่จะแบ่ง 20 สโมสรในแต่ละฤดูกาลออกเป็น 2 กลุ่ม กลุ่มละ 10 ทีม และเล่นในระบบลีกจนจบ 20 เกม ก่อนที่จะให้ทีมอันดับ 1-3 ของแต่ละกลุ่มเข้ารอบไปรอในรอบน็อคเอาต์ ส่วนที่ 4 และ 5 ต้องเล่นเพลย์ออฟ เพื่อหาอีกทีมเข้ารอบก็จะได้ 8 ทีมสุดท้ายไปเตะแบบสองนัด ‘เหย้า-เยือน’ เพื่อหาแชมป์ต่อไป
การแข่งขันในรูปแบบที่ว่ามานั้นจะกินเวลาราว 20 สัปดาห์ สำหรับการแข่งขันรอบแบ่งกลุ่ม และอีกราว 4 สัปดาห์ในการเล่นรอบน็อคเอาต์ ซึ่งหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้เลยที่พวกเขาจะต้องถอนตัวจากการแข่งขันอย่าง ยูฟ่า แชมเปียนส์ ลีก หรือ ยูโรปาลีก หากได้เข้าร่วมแข่งขัน และเมื่อประกอบกับการแถลงการณ์ของ ยูฟา ที่ออกมาก่อนหน้านี้ก็เหมือนทางสหพันธ์ฟุตบอลยุโรปเองก็รู้อยู่แล้วว่ามันจะต้องเป็นแบบนั้น
ที่น่าสนใจคือและเป็นประเด็นคือการ “ผูกขาด” ของลีกที่จะให้ผู้ก่อตั้ง 15 ทีม (ซึ่งคือ 12 ทีมที่กล่าวไปแล้ว และอีก 3 ทีมที่ยังไม่มีการเปิดเผย) ร่วมแข่งขันแบบถาวร โดยทีมที่หมุนเวียนเปลี่ยนหน้าจะมีเพียงแค่ 5 ทีมเท่านั้น ทำให้หลานฝ่ายกังวลเกี่ยวกับบรรดาสโมสรขนาดเล็กที่จะขาดรายได้ เพราะเมื่อบรรดาสโมสรแม่เหล็กหนีมาตั้งลีกเองแล้วเช่นนี้ ความน่าสนใจใน ยูฟา แชมเปียนส์ ลีก / ยูโรปาลีก ก็มีแต่จะลดลง ซึ่งจะส่งผลต่อรายได้ที่เข้ากระเป๋าบรรดาสโมสรต่าง ๆ ที่เข้าร่วมการแข่งขันโดยปริยาย
ในทางกลับกัน การก่อตั้ง ยูโรเปียน ซูเปอร์ลีก ก็น่าจะมาจากความเชื่อมั่นที่ว่า มูลค่าของบรรดาสโมสรผู้ก่อตั้ง มีมากกว่าที่พวกเขาได้รับจากการเล่นในฟุตบอลสโมสรยุโรปที่เป็นอยู่ โดยเฉพาะทีม ‘บิ๊ก 6’ ของอังกฤษ ที่แต่ละปีจะได้ไปเล่นในยูฟา แชมเปียนส์ ลีก ได้เพียง 4 ทีม โดยที่อีกสองทีมที่ไม่ได้ไปอาจจะรู้สึกว่า มูลค่าทางการตลาดของเขามีค่ามากกว่าที่จะเล่นใน ยูโรปาลีก
นั่นจึงเป็นทั้งสาเหตุให้มีคนบางกลุ่มสนใจและอยากดูการแข่งขันรายการนี้ ในทางกลับกันก็มีอีกกลุ่มที่รู้สึกโมโหโกรธาและขยะแขยงแนวคิดนี้เช่นกัน
เริ่มจากฝ่ายที่สนใจและอยากติดตาม ก็เป็นเหตุผลง่าย ๆ ที่จะได้ดูฟุตบอลที่เต็มไปด้วยสโมสรคุณภาพระดับเกรดเอของแต่ละประเทศมาแข่งขันกันโดยที่ไม่ต้องกลัวว่าฤดูกาลไหนสโมสรเหล่านี้จะหายไป นั่นไม่ต่างกับการได้ลุ้นฟุตบอลลีกอีกรายในช่วงกลางสัปดาห์ และเป็นเสมือนซูเปอร์ลีกในฝันแบบการเล่นเกมที่มีแต่ทีมดัง ๆ อย่างแท้จริง
ขณะที่ฝ่ายที่โมโหก็เชื่อว่า การมาของ ยูโรเปียน ซูเปอร์ลีก คือการลงมือฆาตกรรมกีฬาฟุตบอลไปอย่างช้า ๆ เพราะมันจะทำให้บรรดาทีมเล็ก ๆ ลืมตาอ้าปากได้อย่างยากเย็นขึ้นกว่าเดิม เพราะรายได้ที่พวกเขาจะได้รับก็จะยิ่งน้อยลงจากความสนใจที่อาจจะต่ำลงกว่าเดิม
คำถามที่น่าสนใจตอนนี้ คือ 12 สโมสรสมาชิกจะเดินหน้าการแข่งขันรายนี้ได้จริงหรือไม่ เพราะนอกจาก ยูฟา กับ ฟีฟา ที่ออกมาประกาศแบน ยูโรเปียน ซูเปอร์ลีก แล้วบรรดาลีกแต่ละชาติอย่าง พรีเมียร์ลีก, ลาลีกา, กัลโช เซเรีย อา ก็ประกาศจะตัดความสัมพันธ์กับสโมสรที่เข้าร่วมกับลีกใหม่รายการนี้ด้วย
แต่ในทางกลับกัน ลีกเหล่านั้นจะตัด ‘บ่อเงิน บ่อทอง’ ของพวกเขาออกจากลีกได้จริงหรือ? เพราะปฏิเสธไม่ได้เลยว่า 12 สโมสรที่รวมตัวกันก่อตั้ง ยูโรเปียน ซูเปอร์ลีก ในตอนนี้คือแม่เหล็กที่ดึงดูดให้คนดูฟุตบอลลีกของแต่ละประเทศที่ว่าด้วย
ดังนั้นตอนนี้อาจจะยังเร็วเกินไปก็ได้ ที่เราจะมาฟันธงสิ่งที่จะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคต เพราะทางผู้ก่อตั้งทั้ง เฟเรนติโน เปเรซ แห่งเรอัล มาดริด หรือ อันเดรีย อันเญลลี่ แห่งยูเวนตุส ต่างเป็นนักธุรกิจและนักเจรจาที่ยอดเยี่ยม นี่ยังไม่นับบรรดา “ตัวใหญ่” อื่น ๆ อย่าง เฟนเวย์ สปอร์ต กรุป (ลิเวอร์พูล), เอลเลียตต์ กรุป (เอซี มิลาน), ตระกูล เกลเซอร์ (แมนฯ ยูไนเต็ด), ซิตี ฟุตบอล กรุป (แมนฯ ซิตี) หรือ โครเอ็นเก สปอร์ต เอ็นเตอร์ไพร์ส (อาร์เซนอล) ด้วย
ทุกความเป็นไปได้ยังไม่ได้ปิดลง หากผลประโยชน์ยังลงตัว การแถลงเปิดตัว ยูโรเปียน ซูเปอร์ลีก จึงเป็นเสมือนจุดเริ่มต้นที่เราต้องติดตามเรื่องราวต่าง ๆ ต่อไป หาใช่จุดจบของ ฟุตบอลสโมสรยุโรป หรือ ฟุตบอลลีกในประเทศ อย่างแน่นอน
ที่สำคัญ และเป็นสมมติฐาน จากบทเรียนเรื่องเดียวกันจากอดีตก็คือ ทีมใหญ่กำลัง “ต่อรอง” แต่คราวนี้ดัน “ออกหมัด” ต่อยออกไปซึ่ง “รัฐบาลลูกหนัง” เจ็บกันทั้งบาง
ฉะนั้น “ฟีฟ่า” และลูก ๆ เฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง “ยูฟ่า” และลีกยุโรป ในที่นี้จะโต้คืนอย่างไร? หลังขยับคืนด้วยการ “ประนาม” การกระทำ
ทว่าสุดท้าย หมัด 2, 3 หรือหมัดน็อค นั้นไม่มี และไม่เคยมี เพราะ “ผู้ก่อการ” แม้จะไม่ประสบสำเร็จ และมีชื่อหราก็ไม่เคยโดนลงโทษอะไร
ครั้งนี้ก็คงไม่ต่างกัน หนำซ้ำ ยังน่าจะต้อง “แบ่งเค้ก” เพิ่มให้ผ่านฟอร์แมตการแข่งขันบอลถ้วยยุโรปใหม่ และรายได้ที่จะถูกปรับให้ใหม่ก็เท่านั้น
